CPD 70 is a comic book that takes a closer look at the Chicago Police Department in the year 1970.

Everyone from gang members, Black Panther activists, organized crime groups, the Weather Underground, the LGBT community and the B Girls of north Rush Street hustling average city “johns” have a voice here.

All material in this book is based off of information gathered in interviews, news reels or straight from court transcripts of actual cases. Our goal in not only to entertain, but to educate. We’ll take you on a tumultuous ride through the streets of 1970 Chicago. A whirlwind of chaos that followed the 1968 National Democratic Convention, the Weathermen’s days of rage, and the assassination of the Chicago chairman of the Black Panthers, Fred Hampton.

We encourage everyone to take this trip with us as we look at a year with over 800 murders in Chicago, corruption running rampant in the police force, and a community dealing with an ever expanding war overseas.

Welcome to the world of CPD 70
